Here’s how our first meeting will work:
When you arrive, I’ll greet you personally and we’ll chat for an hour or so about what brings you to my office. I’ll invite you to ask any questions you have about me or the therapy process, and I will ask you questions about the history of the problem and its cost in your life. If you don’t know where to start, don’t worry. I’m great at asking questions. And I believe you’ll find my office to be spacious, private, and comfortable (that’s a picture of my office below).
As we talk, we will generate an approach to the problem. If I’m not a good fit for you, I will try to refer you to someone who is. If we decide to work together, chances are good that I’ll offer a homework assignment to think about before our next meeting.
That’s it! If this sounds like a good way to start on the problem you are facing, please contact me. Together, I think we can get you on the road to the life you want to live.
If you would like to get a jump on the paperwork (there isn’t much), you can download my intake forms in PDF format here (links open in a new window):
- Intake forms (contact information, symptom checklist, and mandatory disclosure).
- Consent for couple therapy, if applicable.
- HIPAA statement (for your information only – you don’t need to return this to me).
Contact me any time at:
(303) 818-5162 or shawn@mesapsych.com, or by using the form to the right.
You can find a map to my office here. I look forward to meeting you!
